NOTICE OF RACE
When: Sundays, November 5th, 12th, 19th, 23rd (Thanksgiving Day) and 26th.
A reserve day may be held December 3rd
1. Schedule: Check in opens at 9:30 am each day and is required daily (check in on check in sheet) Skippers meeting at 10:30 am on the first day or as needed thereafter. First race at 11:00am each day. No Starts after 2 pm. Race Dates are as listed above.
2. Rules: The Series will be governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing, US Sailing prescriptions, and class rules (except as any of these are altered by this NOR and the Sailing Instructions). Non-class-legal sails may be used as long as they meet class measurement specifications.
3. Eligibility: The Series is open to Full Rig and Radial skippers who register and pay the required fee. Note: Full Rig and Radial skippers may be scored in their respective fleets using a smaller rig if they wish. To be eligible for the Radial Awards you must sail a Radial or 4.7 for the entire series. Radials will start with the Full rigs and be scored separately. This may be revised if 5 or more Radials Register.
3.1 Registration: You can register online at the CRYC website or pay in person at the door.
4. Fees: Entry fees: Registration $80 for the full series and includes food and refreshments after racing CRYC Members receive a $5 discount. Single day registration is also available. Cost is $20/day, $5 discount for club members. Online payment is by credit card; onsite payment cash/check.
5. Social: We are offering food and refreshments in the club after racing. Lite fare served on Thanksgiving Day (need to save your appetite). While inside the club house, please follow posted guidance on masks if any.
6. Number of Races:
Daily: Up to six races are scheduled each day with no warning signals after 2:00 pm. A minimum of one race will constitute a race day.
Series: FIve race days are scheduled. A minimum of 4 race days will constitute a series for overall scoring. A maximum of 30 races are scheduled over 5 days.
7. Scoring: For daily scoring the Low Point Scoring System (RRS Appendix A) will apply except that one discard will be allowed only if six races are completed. (This changes RRS A2.1).
For series scoring, daily positions will be totaled as the boats score. The scores will be used in a Low Points Score for the series. One discard will be allowed if all five race days are completed.
9. Awards: For the series: top Full rig; top Radial rig. Possible additional or special awards.
10. Sailing Instructions: Sailing Instruction will be available online at www.cooperriveryc.org (RACING > Frostbite Home). The club website will be the official notice board for this event.
11. Venue: Races will be sailed in the waters of the Cooper River inside Cooper River Park, Between Cuthbert Blvd. and Route 130. Cooper River Yacht Club is located at 450 South Park Drive in Collingswood, NJ.
12. Boat Storage: Visiting skippers may store their boats in our boatyard for the duration of the series.
