CRYC Race Course Designations
Version 2026-1

The course to be sailed is posted on the Clubhouse roof prior to each race.  Races start in front of the Clubhouse and finish at the starting line.

A three character code is used for courses:  The first character is a number designating the direction of the start and the sequence of the legs of the course.  The second character is a letter designating the rounding; P designates port rounding, S designates starboard rounding.  Together the first two characters specify the course. The third character is a number designating the number of laps.  The table to the left shows the designation for course with port roundings, in the table F designated finish.

Example:
A posted "2P2" course would mean a course of 2P with two laps sailed and all marks to port (4, 1, 4, 1, F)

Comments:
For 2026 only port rounding (P) courses will be used for Club Championship races.

Odd number courses start to the west (route 130) and even number courses start to the east (Cuthbert Blvd.).

Variation on these course involving offsets or gates may be used at the discretion of the Race Committee.

For legs starting or finishing at marks 2 or 3 mark 1 may be rounded on either side.

Races not part of the Club Championship such as the Chowder Bowl or Adult Opti race may use course not described by this document.
