                  2P:  4, 1, F                                                2S:  4, 1, F

All marks are to be taken to port on “P” courses and to starboard on “S” courses. The race committee will post the course on the course board on the roof.  A number following the course code indicates the number of laps.  For example, if the course is 2P2, a boat would round mark 4, then 1, then 4, then 1, all to port, then finish.

The starting line runs between the white pin mark on the north side of the river and the flagpole on the roof of the clubhouse with the dark blue race committee flag. The identical white mark on the south side of the river nearest the clubhouse will mark the inner limit of the starting line.  When approaching the line to start a boat shall pass between this mark and the pin mark. Please note the inner distance mark is not necessarily on the starting line.  This same line serves as the finish line; boats must cross the line between the inner mark and the pin.

Other drop mark courses (orange ball) may be used at the discretion of the race committee; such courses will be defined at the skippers meeting, or orally on the water.

8.      SCORING

The scoring system shall be a Low-Point Averaged System, The series score for each boat will be the sum of her race scores divided by the number of races for which she is scored, excluding any throw outs which are earned by sailing more then the required races. The qualified boat with the lowest series score is the winner, and others are ranked accordingly. Boats that do not physically start will not be scored for that race. (Boats that start and do not finish will receive DNF but race would still count as races sailed towards qualifying)

A minimum of 11 races sailed shall constitute a series.
The Summer Series and Flowers Regatta will both count towards the Club Fleet Championships

9.      AWARDS

Only members qualify for trophies; Fleets with 5 or more qualifiers will have trophies for first, second, and third place.   Fleets with fewer than 5 participating boats will have a first place trophy, only.  Each Opti’s placement will be recognized with a trophy or a ribbon.

10.    DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. The organizing authority, shall not accept any liability for property damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during, and/or after the racing.
