One day regattas will be scheduled for 5 races with one drop if 5 races are completed.  Otherwise, all races count.  One race minimum for regatta awards and scoring for fleet championships.

Two-day regattas will be scheduled for 3 races each day.  One drop if six races are completed. Otherwise, all races count.  One race minimum for regatta awards and scoring for fleet championships.

Races on holidays begin at 11AM, races on Sundays begin at 1PM (no Sunday holidays in 2024).

Scoring Notes:

Regattas and Series will be scored separately for Fleet Championships.  This eliminates the double counting of regatta results.

Six events for Fleet Championship: 3 regattas and 3 series.  See 2024 Fleet Championship Rules for scoring details.

Low point (average) scoring except as modified in NOR (e.g. Greenfield Regatta).  Regattas scored according to RRS Appendix A.  Club series (Spring, Summer, Fall)  will follow the guidelines of "US Sailing Note on Scoring a Long Series" on the implementation of low point average scoring.

The Les Greenfield Perpetual Trophy will be awarded based on the criteria set down when the trophy was established.

The Chowder Bowl is a CRYC club racing event that is not associated with the Fleet Championships.

Spring Series 2024 - Current Plans (as of 5/30)

Racing Information
The County has orange buoys (ball/hippity hops) that are a permanent part of the lane line system.  To reduce confusion the club might switch to white balls for turning marks.  The starting marks will be the traditional white cylinders.  The RC is working on alternate colors for offsets and other marks.

For those of us that have been around the club for a while a variety of marks have been used:  white cylinders, trapezoids, orange balls, white balls.

For those new to racing this is part of the sport - there are various marks and course designation systems.  The CRYC Race Committee will do its best to keep you informed on race course format.

A hint from someone that has been in the position - It is not a problem until you are in first place and you might find yourself there.
